TimeSlips Creative Storytelling

On www.timeslips.org anyone can read/write/share stories. 

But if you want to facilitate storytelling with people with dementia, our trainings can help ensure you are successful.  All proceeds from the trainings go to support the TimeSlips project.

Training

In our training, you will learn:

  • The meaning and value of creative expression
  • An introduction to dementia and dementia care
  • The basics of person-centered care
  • The TimeSlips storytelling process in detail
  • Models for sharing the stories with your community


TimeSlips training is ideal for:

  • Family/friend caregivers
  • Professional caregivers (at any level)
  • Chaplains
  • Students (high school through university)
  • Administrators
  • Volunteers working with older adults


Training for Individuals

Take our self-paced online training ($99)

  • 5 Modules

  • Estimated 4 hours to complete

  • Free downloadable certificate of completion

  • has 4 CEU certificate available (for an additional cost)

  • Free downloadable training manual


Training for Classrooms

  • Online training is available for high school and college classes.

Certification

Organizations can train to become a Certified in the TimeSlips method.  Certification is designed to answer that pesky question, "Am I doing this right??"  Through the certification process, a TimeSlips Master Trainer will review your self-evaluation of practice/application and a dozen stories you upload to www.timeslips.org to provide suggestions for improving your practice. 

For Individuals

  • Complete the initial training
  • Practice the method
  • Use images and write 12 stories on www.timeslips.org 
  • Order Certification (below)
  • Complete a self-evaluation of practice application
  • Receive suggestions from a TimeSlips Master Trainer on how to improve your practice
  • Certification is valid for 3 years

Certified Facilitators are eligible to receive:

  • Ongoing support from TimeSlips Trainers
  • Access to the Certified Facilitator Resources Page on the TimeSlips website
